Sketch Practice: Sumardi

Image
I haven't practice my drawing and sketching for more than a year maybe due to my busy daily life. So, I started back to play around with my pencil sketch. This time, I draw Sumardi from my photo stocks. Bad result this time, seems like my hand & eye need some alignment check. I couldn't match what I see to what I draw... For those who didn't follow this blog much, Sumardi is one of my friend who love FOSS and a PHP expert.

Nasha Aziz sketch part two

Image
Nothing much improvement of the previous Nasha Aziz sketch ... touching up here and there before going to sleep... Owh.. I'm moving in slow-mo now... I think I'm missing something. But I couldn't find it yet... I just couldn't see this drawing looks like the real actress . Or maybe you can tell me which part of it... Hopefully, I can finish this drawing soon.. hopefully... if I'm still in the mood and have some time to do it

Nasha Aziz sketch part one

Image
After some busy months, I just got the opportunity to do another sketch yesterday. To avoid my pencil sketch skill getting rusty, I tried to draw Nasha Aziz, referred from a magazine cover found on my book shelf. And the result show, my skill already got rusted. Simply because I couldn't even finish the drawing in a day. The first attempt got lot's of mistakes make me shy to show you that sketch . I really need more practice to polish my drawing skill. Here's the unfinished drawing of Nasha Aziz , one of the famous actress in Malaysia: Not done yet for my pencil on paper drawing. This sketch didn't satisfy me much. I can feel my sketch is far away from the output image in my brain processor... Maybe, my hand printer need to be re-aligned, serviced or need some 'clean ink head' procedure...

Old Sketch 11: Skinhead II

Image
Being a Skinhead in the early 1994 till the end of 2001 here in Malaysia have influenced my lifestyle with the Skinhead culture and ideology. Skinheads was named for their shaven or close-cropped heads. They are a working-class subculture that originated in the United Kingdom in the late 1960s. This subculture then spread to other parts of the world. Back to the beginning, the first skinheads were greatly influenced by West Indian rude boys and British mods, in terms of fashion, music and lifestyle. Originally, the skinhead subculture was primarily based on those elements, not politics or race. Since then, however, skinhead aligned themselves with attitudes toward race and politics. The political spectrum within the skinhead scene ranges from the far right to the far left, although many skinheads remain apolitical. Fashion-wise, skinheads range from a clean-cut 1960s mod-influenced style to less-strict punk- and hardcore-influenced styles. This pencil sketch was made in the middle of t...

Cameron Diaz on pencil

Image
This time, I'm still with my pencil sketch practice. But with a little more serious because I want to check my improvement in pencil drawings. I have done some BCD (Blind Contour Drawing) and CD (Contour Drawing) to improve my skill. Thanks to Takara for his advice on BCD and CD. However, I'm not going to post my BCD and CD sketch because I don't like how they look... but here is my Cameron Diaz sketch . Cameron Diaz is one of my favorite popular celebrity . I refer this sketch from one of her celebrity pictures collection available on the internet. I don't remember the link because I found it already in my archive. I choose the reference picture because of her hairstyles. I want to challenge myself for details of her hair and also with the water elements. If you noticed the water in this sketch, then I can say that was some improvement on me because it's real hard for me to draw realistic water surfaces. Another bonus this time is the making of Cameron Diaz s...

Roshatika

Image
Hmm... This is my latest sketch. Still hot from the oven. I got this request from a blogger friend called Roshatika to draw her picture and I think she have been waiting for this for month since I got too busy to do so. Let me call her Kak Ros since she is older than me Ngeheheh! (Oh yeh! I feel younger.. hihihih). This sketch is done with 6B pencil in my sketch book. I referred this sketch from her photo taken on 1989. She have been announced as Ratu Cantik Pesta Port Dickson (Beautiful Queen of Port Dickson Feast... some kind of Miss Universe for Port Dickson) on 1989. Hey, feel free to check out her nice blog at Diari Roshatika . She is so pretty isn't she? And here's a bonus from me... The making of Roshaika. Hope you enjoy it.

This sketch done with pencil on paper. It was refered from a photo called Jaipur Old Man. The photo is taken by Nicholas Ferrando from Argentina and make him win the 3rd place of Digital Camera Photographer of the Year 2006 Competition.

My Old Sketch 4: Double Nan

Image
This is another old sketch... I haven't got any new sketch to post yet. People in this sketch is my college seniors. Both of them shared the same name which is Adnan Bin Hassan on the left and Adnan Bin Taha on the right. And both are responsible to give me the JeRuNgKuN nickname after I've been invited nicely to their 'ragging' session. Anyway, I've passed the session with flying colors (coz I followed everything they said and get them annoyed with no reason to beat me... I've made them laugh! hahaha!). After that black night, they start being my best friends until now. Old school ragging was not the same as what I heard happen to the new generation. They use body contact a lot while we don't. During my school time, we just use 'psycho' where it could hurt the junior's mental very much if they can't accept this mental torture. I sketched this using pencil on paper from a picture taken inside our tent at Gunung Ayam (Chicken Mountain) ...

My Old Sketch 3: The Skinhead

Image
Another old sketch done with pencil on paper . This sketch is about skinhead... I used to hang around with these boys since I was in secondary school until I've finished my diploma. But now, I feel like I'm too old for that. All my friends have gone I don't know where... We are leaving each other without any contact address or what so ever... All I can do right now is enjoying the reggae and SKA music alone or with my online friends. Check out my Reggae And SKA Videos blog and tune in my type of music... Of course I also like other music genre but this one gives me a lot of memories.

My Old Sketch 2: Save Our Child

Image
This sketch is about children as war victim. It was inspired by a song about Saving Our Children from war. I really hate war. Why don't we simply live in peace and harmony?... Why war?... Urgh! I've got emotional on this... It's not just we, are badly affected by the war. How about our children?... This sketch is also done by pencil on paper . And the gradient is done in Adobe Photoshop . You can simply do that by adding a new layer in Photoshop, apply a gradient fill on the layer and then change the layer mode to Screen.

My Old Sketch 1: TATU

Image
Hahaha... I just found my old sketches . Done with pencil on paper . It reminds me to my practice on my sketch pad that have been lost... I don't know where I misplaced the sketch pad... What I can remember with this sketch is I'm trying to sketch TATU , a Russian pop music duo. They are Lena Katina who is on the right and Yulia Volkova on the left. I didn't remember their top music at that time... Anyway, just enjoy my sketch. I'll be posting more old and memorable sketch that I have done years ago. Leave your comment or just Enjoy!
