Facebook Graffiti Wall: Adawiyah

Did you remember my sketch of my sister's daughter, Adawiyah on my very first post of this blog? This is another sketch of Adawiyah, and this time it is on Facebook Graffiti Wall.

and as usual.. let's replay.. heheh

I'm tired to finish the details. It's already 4 AM... I can't save and continue the drawing because Facebook Graffiti Wall haven't had that features. So, this is all I can do for 2 hours...

Facebook Graffiti Wall: Nona Manis

I'm trying to do another drawing using the Facebook GrafFiti Wall again just after the Got Root drawing. I don't know why I'm getting inspired to improve my drawing using this tool. Thanks to Facebook Graffiti wall because I can learn and enjoy others painting to...

Here's my latest graffiti... I call it "Nona Manis"

And here's the how i draw it... I really enjoy the show.

Hope you enjoy it too!

Realistic Graffiti Drawing by Minh Hoang

Do you believe that this photo is one of the Facebook Graffiti Wall drawing?

I'm really amazed on how realistic and how Minh Hoang draw it. You can see it yourself by playing this graffiti drawing...

Damn real right?

Facebook Graffiti Wall: Got Root?

Previously, I register my facebook account just because I like to try the Graffiti Wall. So I draw REDD brings bread for GRIN for Emila.

I'm playing with my graffiti wall on my facebook again today... maybe this is the beginning of my real facebook graffiti journey...

The Facebook Graffiti Wall is really useful for those who wanna learn drawing and coloring because we can review our drawing and also see how other people draw from beginning to the final artwork. I can see there are lots of superb artists and learn how they work on their drawing. Pretty amazing... here's mine, check it out...

Feel free to add me on facebook, and put "artofapogee" on the message so i know you're coming from here. Hope you enjoy it!!

Not an oil pastel portrait yet

I'm still trying to develop my oil pastel rendering skill... it is really hard. I can't even achieve the color I want yet... I don't know what to say anymore... I'm just not satisfied with it...

"Another oil pastel rendering practice"

Yesterday evening, I bought some cotton buds. I hope it can helps improving my Buncho oil pastel rendering.

I wish I could draw better...

An Apple A Day

I'm trying to use Buncho Oil Pastel color which is typically hard oil pastel, but it is cheaper. The way of coloring and blending is also different from the softer oil pastel like the one that art students use. in order to get used with this oil pastels, I did some oil pastel coloring practice... and here's another practice stuff...

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away
Apple in the morning - Doctor's warning
Roast apple at night - starves the doctor outright
Eat an apple going to bed - knock the doctor on the head
Three each day, seven days a week - ruddy apple, ruddy cheek"

Rendering Oil Pastel Practice

Inspired by my friend, surface... I've started back to play with oil pastel. Quite hard to blend my 24 Colors Buncho Oil Pastels to meet what's in my mind. I just can't synchronize my fingers, my eyes and my brain yet...

"The First Crayon Attempt"

"The Next Crayon Practice"

I'm going to test this new oil pastel blending skill on a portrait drawing... Soon...

SamTriggy - Rising Force on Oud

Sorry for no update in this blog due to my heavy workload lately. But today, I can't resist to post this video. I've been following Samtriggy news for years. He is a Malay guy who can play 3 Guitar simultaneously using his Guitar Tapping technique. Seriously, he is one of my motivation to practice guitar by myself in my free time. But I'm still at beginner level... heheh

In this awesome video, he is playing Oud or Gambus in Malay. And this song called, Rising Force... Enjoy!!

Hope to see more from him soon...

Mabok Kepayang CD Artworks

Previously, I did an initial sketch of the Mabok Kepayang art. Then I work on it digitally using my Wacom Tablet and GIMP. The digital painting at first, looks realistic where it is not what Zoy expect. He just expecting me to do a simple pencil sketch. I did the digital painting because of some comments on my previous initial sketch where they wanna see it coloured. After some fixes, to reduce the realism in the digital painting and position the art on the right location, here is the final output of the Dewangga Sakti - Mabok Kepayang CD artwork. All works are done using my Ubuntu Hardy Heron Laptop, GIMP - GNU Image Manipulation Program and Inkscape Vector Graphics Editor.

Thanks to Dewangga Sakti for honoring me to design their CD inlay, tray card and overlay. . By the way, here is the digital painting output before it is placed on the CD layout.

Arlong of DewanggaSakti ask me for an artwork for his Mabok Kepayang album cover... I did an initial sketch of it... as what I understand about Mabok Kepayang, I'm thinking about love and somehow drunken in love...

My Skinhead Art on YouTube?

I got a message from my friend, AsriBotak today... He said, He found my art published on a Video. Just because, he have seen the real sketch on my sketchbook... As I've already published the drawing for all skinhead fans and friends out there... I won't charge anybody who use it.

Here's the video...

As far as I remember, the song is once played in a skinhead legend movies called Romper Stomper. That's the first, Russell Crowe movie that I've ever seen on 1992. He act as Hando, the leader of an Anti Fascist Skinhead crowd in Australia. After that, I started to see more movies of him like Gladiator and so on. A great artist I thought.... Owh, before I forget, here's my skinhead drawing in the video...

I'm glad there is somebody out there who value my humble drawings... hehehe...

Where to get Free TTF Fonts?

Fonts would be another useful resources for graphic designer. Most graphic designer have collections of beautiful fonts that we can use in our arts. I'm going to share my bookmark of some sites that offer Free TrueType Fonts for easy preview and download...
Feel free to leave additional downloadable TTF font links in the comment area if I missed out any good links.

GIMP - The Best Free Photoshop

For those who remember about my post on Ubuntu, the best art of operating system crafted... you should remember that I do mention about GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program.

GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.

It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.

GIMP is expandable and extensible. It is designed to be augmented with plug-ins and extensions to do just about anything. The advanced scripting interface allows everything from the simplest task to the most complex image manipulation procedures to be easily scripted.

GIMP is written and developed under X11 on UNIX platforms. But basically the same code also runs on MS Windows and Mac OS X.

You can read more on Official GIMP Website...

For me, it is the best replacement for Adobe Photoshop and it's free!! Take a look here on how this guy enjoy painting using GIMP.

You have choice now, if you are using those licensed Adobe Photoshop, yes it's also good but if you don't have any licensed photo retouching or painting tool, grab gimp now. And start producing your art in GIMP... Enjoy!!
